Prevention

Try to take regular, gentle exercise as it can stimulate regular bowel activity - walking and swimming are ideal!

  • Go to the toilet when you need to and try to avoid straining.
  • Eat high-fibre foods such as fruit, vegetables and wholemeal bread.
